Is your password secure?
What is the best method for choosing a secure password?
And please tell me you aren’t using one “password” as your password?!?
Let me skip the meal, start with dessert and sum up: Using using a “passphrase” instead of a complex random password is actually more secure.
The article shows that:
“It is 10 times more secure to use ‘this is fun’ as your password, than ‘J4fS<2′.“
Not to mention it’s a whole lot easier to remember!
I know this is an older article (2007) but I though it was worth sharing again because the examples are still valid. It not only quickly walks through the reasons why certain passwords are more secure than others, but it explains the different methods hackers use to “crack your password.”
It’s not as “technical” as you might think, so give it a read. And be informed.
In the above example, I don’t think anyone is recommending using ‘this is fun’ as your password
